The following is a listing of the maps produced by the U.S. Geological Survey's
National Wetlands Research Center for the Caddo Lake Institute Spill exercise.
There are three sets of maps. The first set (General Caddo Lake Maps) is two maps: Historical
Photography and Roads, Place Names, Boat Roads and Channel Markers.
The second set (Quad Maps) of maps is a series of 4 maps each for the eight 1:24,000
U.S.G.S Quad Sheets which cover Caddo Lake. The first map is Special Biological
Areas. The second is Ramsar Sites, State Park and Special Cultural Areas.
The third map is Land Cover / Land Classification. The final map is Historical
Photography. The eight quads are Jefferson, Smithland, Trees, Vivian South,
Woodlawn, Karnack, Potters Point, and Mooringsport. There are a total of 32 maps for this
set of maps (8 quads x 4 maps = 32).
The final set (Harrison Bayou Maps) of maps is a series of maps produced for the spill
exercise area, Harrison Bayou. This set of maps include five maps: Special
Biological Areas, Ramsar Sites, State Park and Special Cultural Areas,
Land Cover / Land Classification, Historical Photography,
and Roads, Place Names, Boat Roads and Channel Markers.
Metadata for Maps
The maps are in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document File (PDF) format version 3 and can be
viewed with Adobe's free Acrobat Viewer. If you do not have the viewer go to the Adobe homepage and download the free viewer and install it
on your machine.
